It does happen, but it's rather rare, so I would say about two or three days every winter.
However, it's quite common at high mountains, as my town is surrounded by mountains with peaks of over 2200 metters of altitude.

Yes it does happen sometimes on cold winter nights. It's much more common down around Southwestern Washington though.

It's quite common in colder winter nights in many rural areas of the Po Plain; in the countryside outside Rimini is unfrequent but it happens sometimes.

Fog below freezing is not unusual - I couldn't possibly say how often it occurs though.

We get them occasionally in Oregon's Willamette Valley. In Corvallis, where I live, is a facility that exhausts a lot of water saturated air. In situations when there is ice fog in the Valley anyway, there is a whole lot more of it around the factory. I have seen visibility in the vicinity cut to less than 60 feet and accumulations of rime up to 3 inches deep on the grounds, landscaping and roadways. Just before sunup the view can be stunningly beautiful.

Here, in a dry continental climate, there are not much foggy days at all. I don't even remember seeing fog in winter.

It is definitely not rare here, it occurs here i'd say every year, alot of the time we can get it for two or three days in a row.

BTW i'm talking about freezing fog lasting 24 hours.

I think what he is talking about is freezing fog lasting all day.

But areas further inland might see it more often.
