I lived in Orange County CA from 2000 till 2017. The temperature range of Lagos is very close to coastal southern California:

Lagos has warmer lows than Long Beach, CA which would indicate the Atlantic surface water is warmer than the Pacific waters off of southern California. You can probably live in Lagos comfortably without air conditioning, and heat would be needed just occasionally in the cooler months.

Lagos is also 50% cheaper to live in than Southern California.
