Another grey day...
Took a drive to DuPuis WMA, about 20 miles west of me. Light/moderate rain the entire time. Some nice oak hammocks and cypress domes.

I like the way Florida looks on cloudy days. It fits with the swamp scenery.
You guys decide. More color today or exactly 1 year ago? I think it's pretty obvious. lol
However... there was much more color from the roads then from up top.
Pretty interesting the "pockets" of vivid and more spread out colors .
More color an hour north of me in CT (elevation 400-800 feet)
Everywhere you looked there was some color and bright too. Oranges and Reds.
Driving through town in New Milford.. They must have the fireplace lit maybe.
Cool. Wonder how long that tree will stay standing. lol
I saw this in the sky I thought was a white comet. LOL 3 photos.
Spoiler
Then I saw this blurry shot and looks like nothing on the end.
The Comet was withdrawn from service in 1980 and only saw brief service in the USA with B.O.A.C - they were not really suited for Trans Atlantic flights, and were resigned to Eastern services when the more capable Boeing 707 went into service.
FYI about my comparison photo... Last year was 2nd wettest Summer in Hartford since 1905! 21.86”.
This Summer only 9.96”!
August Averagetemp about the same.
Early September last year was cooler.
So a wet summer plus cool end of August into September equaled crazy early color changes.
