Let's see how lopsided this one is: both climates have very similar winter average temperatures but one has much warmer summers and shoulder seasons and is substantially sunnier.

A) Juneau

vs.

B) Boston:

I doubt that anyone would choose a cool oceanic, gloomy climate like Juneau over Boston.

Should've done a Central Asian city instead (they have similar winter temps, but with hotter summers).

Juneau because it has cooler summers, longer winters, and more snow. Close call though.

the whole point of this poll was to see how lopsided it is; just like my San Jose vs. San Francisco battle , except this time I'm using climates with snowy (but not excessively cold by continental standards) winters. I want to support my hypothesis, when the winters between two cities are pretty equally matched but one has cool summers (average highs less than 20C) while the other one has some summer warmth (but not too hot except for heat waves- like average highs around 80F), the warmer summer one will win by a huge landslide: most people want some sort of summer. The extreme climate polls have been overdone on this forum.

Both have good winter temperatures and bad summer temperatures, but Juneau has a lot of rainfall and not a lot of sun, so I pick Boston.

Juneau, of course, much cooler summers, much rainier, humid, cloudier. Boston's summers are too hot.

A reasonable theory, though I would argue that Juneau's winter is a lot different than Boston's.

It's quite wet, and dark. The downtown precipitation figure of 92 inches is more reflective of the rainfall in most of the areas that people life. So, it's either snowing or raining for most of the fall and winter, with a few short lived cold and dry spells mixed in.

Boston has a superior climate? Maybe. It's a nice place to visit, but I'd rather live in SE Alaska.
