Nice! This one is my favorite and the waterfall right after this one. I'd have an urge to go on top of this rock. lol

I noticed on my hikes around state parks and trails here there's not really any landmarks or things to point out. All you guys seem to have something to show. And you knew the names of everything. I assume you either did your research or had a map with you. The double arch and keyhole was cool too. And the Green Water.

Love the rocks and the outcrops. Pools and stream look very inviting to swim in, shame you're not allowed. Interesting blue color there.

I think the church looks more out of place than the glass building. Nice is historically Ligurian, not Provençal. It shows in the architecture. The town where I live a couple dozen kilometers west of Nice is part of France since the 15th century and imo it looks less "Italian".

Nice looks like it has very busy streets for a small city, but I suppose that's common for Mediterranean Europe.
The pics with the streetcar are from the busiest shopping street, the one with the green hillside background from an area full of bars and restaurants. Other pars of the city are more quiet.

I don't really find Mediterranean cities any busier than the rest of Europe. You said that because they're overall denser? The main shopping street of Tours or Stuttgart seem just as busy.

I wanted to, but it was actually separated from the cliff by a huge gap.

Yep, I had a trail map. All the rock formations had signs next to them anyway

We went on a 5 mile round-trip hike to Hemmed-in Hollow Falls today...probably the most strenuous hike I've ever done east of the Rockies

Trailhead

Looking up from the bottom of the falls, the tallest waterfall between the Rockies and the Appalachains. Flow looks really low, but apparently that's normal.

Plunge pool

Hiking back up the 1000 feet

You can see the Buffalo River through the trees...we had a canoe trip planned but had to hike down to the falls instead since the river level was too low

View from the lodge on top of Mount Magazine

Interesting "alpine" vegetation

Lodge

Close to sunset on the northwest side of the mountain

The wind was howling outside our room but has died down a bit now.
