Went down to the beach for a swim yesterday, but it was a jellyfish tide.

The effect is that humid air actually condenses water onto the snow, which adds heat to the snow.

Planted the garlic cloves and a shower came through, perfect timing. Forgot to buy string so the beans and their bamboo supports will have to wait til tomorrow.

Garlic is a bit late. Plant them at the start of winter here.

Most people plant them here in November or December, but you can plant in Jan-Feb and harvest late summer rather than early summer.

What's strange? The vast majority of crops are usually planted in Feb/Mar, then there are some like courgette, sweetcorn, tomato, capsicum or cucumber that have to wait until April or even May.

When I found out that I couldn't plant sweetcorn or courgette seeds until April, I thought that sounded very late. I just assumed that most crops are planted in Feb/Mar in all non-tropical regions.
