Miami and Honolulu both achieved 80 F today but Miami got their earlier, even when adjusting for time zone.
Right now:
Miami: 84 F at 4:30PM EST (hit 80 F shortly after 9AM!)
Honolulu: just hit 80 F at 11:30AM Hawaii time
Los Angeles: currently 61 F at 1:33PM PST
Houston: 50 F at 3:30PM Central time
Phoenix: 63F at 2:30PM Mountain time.
We might finally get there this weekend!! Forecast calls for a high of 80F on Saturday and 84 F on Sunday with lows in the low to mid 50s both nights. I still don't think we'll see 90F until March or April though.

and this next week places might see 90s for example, downtown, Anaheim, and those inner basin areas. these next 10 days seem like we will see 80+ in lots of the metro area

Welcome back L.A-Mex. Yep; we will have our first heat wave of 2016 but I still fear La Nina this summer meaning cooler than normal temperatures on the coast along with a much stronger marine layer.
