...FIRST MAJOR WINTER STORM OF THE SEASON COULD BRING BLIZZARD
CONDITIONS TO WESTERN MINNESOTA ON FRIDAY...
WEATHER CONDITIONS WILL DETERIORATE RAPIDLY WITH BLIZZARD
CONDITIONS POSSIBLE ACROSS WESTERN MINNESOTA FRIDAY AS A LOW
PRESSURE SYSTEM TRACKS NORTHEAST ACROSS IOWA INTO WESTERN
WISCONSIN. RAIN WILL BEGIN THURSDAY AFTERNOON OR EVENING ACROSS
WESTERN MINNESOTA...BUT IS EXPECTED TO CHANGE TO SNOW BY EARLY
FRIDAY MORNING. SNOW WILL BE HEAVY AT TIMES INTO EARLY AFTERNOON
BEFORE TAPERING OFF BY EVENING. SNOW ACCUMULATIONS OF 6 TO 10
INCHES ARE EXPECTED WEST OF A LINE FROM AROUND GRANITE FALLS TO
WILLMAR AND LITTLE FALLS. AMOUNTS WILL TAPER OFF QUICKLY TO THE
EAST.
WINDS WILL INCREASE MARKEDLY FRIDAY AS THE LOW PRESSURE CENTER
PULLS AWAY. GUSTS OF 35 TO 50 MPH ARE EXPECTED...HIGHEST SOUTH OF
I-94 WHICH WILL CONTRIBUTE TO CONSIDERABLE BLOWING SNOW AND
WHITEOUT CONDITIONS. TRAVEL WILL BECOME VERY DIFFICULT OR
IMPOSSIBLE IN AREAS OF THE HEAVIEST SNOW.
A BLIZZARD WATCH IS IN EFFECT FROM LATE THURSDAY NIGHT THROUGH
FRIDAY FOR MUCH OF WEST CENTRAL MINNESOTA...MAINLY WEST OF GRANITE
FALLS TO GLENWOOD AND ALEXANDRIA. A WINTER STORM WATCH IS IN
EFFECT A BIT FURTHER TO THE EAST WHERE SNOW AMOUNTS SHOULD BE LESS
AND THUS THE THREAT OF WHITEOUT CONDITIONS IS LOWER. THAT INCLUDES
THE CITIES OF REDWOOD FALLS...WILLMAR...LONG PRAIRIE...AND LITTLE
FALLS.

...BLIZZARD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM LATE THURSDAY NIGHT THROUGH
FRIDAY EVENING...
THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN TWIN CITIES/CHANHASSEN HAS ISSUED
A BLIZZARD WATCH...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM LATE THURSDAY NIGHT
THROUGH FRIDAY EVENING.
* BLIZZARD CONDITIONS ARE POSSIBLE FROM LATE THURSDAY NIGHT
THROUGH FRIDAY EVENING.
* WINDS GUSTING AS HIGH AS 50 MPH COULD CAUSE WHITEOUT CONDITIONS
IN BLOWING SNOW. SIGNIFICANT DRIFTING OF THE SNOW IS LIKELY.
* TOTAL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS OF 6 TO 10 INCHES ARE POSSIBLE.
* TRAVEL COULD BE VERY DIFFICULT OR IMPOSSIBLE...INCLUDING DURING
BOTH COMMUTES ON FRIDAY.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A BLIZZARD WATCH MEANS THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR FALLING AND/OR
BLOWING SNOW WITH STRONG WINDS AND EXTREMELY POOR VISIBILITIES.
THIS CAN LEAD TO WHITEOUT CONDITIONS AND MAKE TRAVEL VERY
DANGEROUS.
Will this be the first snowstorm thread for this year? Euro showing a storm coming out of the Plains, heading into Great Lakes and up into Canada with cold enough air for maybe a snowstorm in North Dakota or Minnesota (depending on location of storm)
This particular run gives a snowstorm to Northeast Wisconsin and parts of Ontario with 6-12"+
**** this storm models had it farther south and bringing low 50's here a couple days ago, Now I'll have to get lucky to even get to 60
Very true. Of course details like that aren't known till couple days before but good to point out. Thanks.
Last week the Jet dug a little deeper which gave the blizzard to more areas south and west of current areas. So basically the storm is further East and north a bit now.
Minneapolis was always in a bad spot. Instead of the storm west of them, now its over them which still means no snow other than backside light snow after the storm passes. They will miss the blizzard by like 50-75 miles?
But not sure if it related to whats going on in Florida. Maybe. It's all related I guess.

It is, I've been watching it for a few days now and just that slight move north east completely changed the outcome for us
Must be my fault. I just got done bragging about how warm November has been so far. (I live about midway between Alexandria and Watertown)
LOL. I thought you were going to say because you didn't tune up the Snow blower or something.
Stay safe...Post a couple of pictures in here, we'll all love to see it.
I looked up some stats for Alexandria but too many missing so I went with Duluth. While November snows of course aren't rare, I am wondering how many 6-12" storms there have been in November. Or Blizzards for that matter.
