I fall into that category. Tried it at 17 and ended up spitting it out.

That may be because smoking weed has become a lot more mainstream now, and is a much safer and healthier choice as a mind-altering drug?
Maybe, but even drug use has fallen compared to the heyday of the 90s.
I think drinking used to be seen as cool but it's really not anymore.
True. I think here in the US, people drinking and smoking cigarettes has gone down a lot in the last 30 years, but weed smoking has become much more popular.
Another interesting thing is that young women have overtaken young men in the drinking stakes.. and young women represent the highest visits to A&E because of alcohol-related injuries. Although people in their 60s drink the most alcohol overall, just over the week rather than all at the weekend. Middle-class pensioners are always a little buzzed, lol.
