Here are 10 very distinct and unique climates that either don't fit the stereotypes of their classifications or are extreme caricatures of their classifications. Please rank them in order from your most to least favorite.

Quillagua: driest place on earth: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quillagua

Macquarie Island: most maritime climate I could find: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Macquarie_Island#Climate

Mount Waialeale: Wettest place I could find without a wet/dry season with comfortably warm (but not hot) temperature:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mount_...all_Statistics

Oymyakon: Largest seasonal temperatures swings on earth with the coldest winters of any permanently habited place: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oymyakon#Climate

Lima: Absurdly cloudy and mild desert: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lima#Climate

Dallol: Hottest average temperatuer on earth: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dallol,_Ethiopia#Climate

Turpin: Desert with the largest seasonal temperature variation: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turpan

La Rinconada: Extremely high altitude climate near the equator: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/La_Rin...,_Peru#Climate

Eureka: Maritime narrow range and weird that July has the coldest record high of any of the months considering its latitude: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eureka...fornia#Climate

I think Mountain View, HI would have been better, as it's actually inhabited and fits your criteria.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mountain_View,_Hawaii

So, I would rate Mt. View #1, followed by: Eureka, Lima, La Rinconada, Macquarie Island, Quillagua, Turpin, Oymyakon and Dallol.

Ok I pick Røst... above the arctic circle and has a warmer January than NYC. I'll put it between Turpan and La Rinconada..

Quillagua: A-
I like how dry and mild it is.
Turpan: A-
A little too hot but I like the continentality.
Lima: B
I like the low rainfall and mildness but I hate the sun hours.
Eureka: B-
Too cool throughout the year. But the low rainfall and the decent sun hours are redeeming factors.
Dallol: C
Way too hot but I like the dryness.
La Rinconada: D+
Too cool but I like the steep diurnal ranges during the winter.
Oymyakon: D
Way too cold but I like how continental it is.
Macquarie Island: D-
Way too cool throughout the year and the sun hours are crap.
Cherrapunji: D-
The only thing that doesn't suck is that it has a dry season.
Mount Waialeale: F
Way too rainy throughout the year.

I'm sure you could prioritize all those "equally horrible" climates from the "best of all the evils" to the "worst of all the evils" I'm tending to think you'd prefer Macquarie Island over Dallol? Is that correct?
