Close up of the 7am temps.

In 2014 there were 3 days in October where the low was 60°+ in Hartford. Happened once in 2012, 2010, 2008 and 6 times in 2007. It happens.

Now if that 67F holds at Bridgeport, that's more uncommon for October although it's happened 10 of last 67 yrs

Still looking like mid month is our next break from the warmth.

3 maps..

First a current one to compare to.

The 540 Thickness Line is typically the rain/snow line for low elevations. Not to be used on its own. I use it to see where the real cold air is. Forget PType. It's pretty much where the Northern Jet Stream is.

564+ line is pretty much very warm for this time of year.

So............. here is this morning. That Northern Jet and Cold air is well north in Canada... Watch what happens next weekend

Boom... Suppressed South more with a little Dip for New England..

This is Latest GFS

This is latest Canadian. Interesting look to this as its flat across but suppressed as well. Warm in Eastern US with this setup but I'm watching that Northern Jet. (That time of the year )

New "wetter" pattern. Hope we can squeeze a couple inches out of this! Warm Cloudy nights, cool Cloudy days. Lack of sun. Not the best for vibrant leaf colors.

This is what happens when the sky is clear. But I like it because it's super nice during the day.
