It's 91°F (33°C) in Norman right now. Blech. The dew point is only 64°F (18°C), so it could be worse. This will likely be Oklahoma City's first above normal day since August 19.
Not only are average temps record cold in most of the south.... but water temps are extremely below average! Water temps by louisiana are as much as 10 to 12 degrees below average with temps in mid 70s only... east coast same story! Water temps in northern half of Florida are BARELY over 80... meanwhile wilmington is 6 degree below average at only 76! Charleston only 77! This september has been cold on epic proportions.
All those cold fronts really stirred up the waters.
Pattern shown for next week is something we haven't seen in a while. Western trough potentially lasting for more than a week? Last time we saw that was probably May if not even earlier.
