As the title says, do you use the 0°C or the -3°C for define a continental climate? Personally I use the 0°C in Europe and Oceania, for make the continental climate zone be a little bigger and in Asia and America the -3°C isotherm, because the cold zone is very big anyway.

I use 0 C personally, I find -3 C (IMO) to be too cold as that's where winters start being more dominated by snow cover and continental-like.

I use -3 (27) as that is what K used in his original system. Personally I'd draw the line at 5 (41), but if I'm using K's system or any other existing system that's not my own, I'll use it without modification.

If it's an XXA climate, I'll use 0'C. If it's an XXB/C climate I'll use -3'C.

0. -3 leads to place like Erie, PA being subtropical. 0 is a good threshold, -3 is idiotic.

For a continental climate it would have to fulfill TWO OUT OF THE THREE following requirements


- Average lows below 0C
- Average highs below 8C
- 6in (20cm) snow a month

Well technically, Cfb so Oceanic. But it does make Boston, Cincinnati, Cleveland, and Indianpolis subtropical which is ridiculous.
