This is the current forecast. Some people still think it'll be extremely hot at the weekend, which none of the models are hinting at. Maybe hot on Saturday, but then July looks normal.

Hopefully July will at least end up with average or above sunshine. June has been so bad that we will need nearly about 270 hours in July to get back to normal. Maybe over 300 hours required once you factor in August.

About time as well, June has seen about 200% of the normal rainfall, and has been extremely cloudy. An average July will be welcomed.

This is the exact reason why any French climate > any UK climate. We never get the level of heat that they do.

Wow, 2am local time and still 82F (28C) in Bordeaux and 84F (29C) in Nice.

https://tgftp.nws.noaa.gov/weather/current/LFBD.html
https://tgftp.nws.noaa.gov/weather/current/LFMN.html

Looks like last night also did not drop below 80 in Nice either!

Edit: Ok so Bordeaux actually dropped from 82 to 78 from 1am to 2am. Still very impressive.

I'm not that shocked with Nice but Bordeaux is very surprising

Indeed, @Shalop! And it's a new record for a month of June (warmest minimum), at Nice.

26°C (so, exactly 78.8°F, a little below the 80 mark)...

There have been in France, four values of minimums not getting below 30°C; the following:

Marignana, Corsica, with 30.5°C / 86.9°F (1st August 2017);
Perpignan, Roussillon, with 30.3°C / 86.5°F (4th August 2018);
Menton, Riviera, with 30.3°C / 86.5°F (6th August 2003);
Calvi, Corsica, with 30.0°C / 86.0°F (14th August 2003).

There have been a few summers in Nice, where the temperature never (!) got below 20°C during the whole July/August period and a little beyond, on either side (June/September).

It is even more the case for stations such as Menton, Cap Corse, L'Ile-Rousse or Porto-Vecchio...
