It is the coldest place on Earth. Interesting how a place with no sun at all at this time of year can still get big daily ranges. I can't imagine there being many fronts in that part of the world, anyone with an explanation as to what warms it up by up to 30C during the 'day'? The fact it's at 10000ft might be a factor perhaps?
Showing -17 C /0 F right now 10:57 am EDT. That is not all the cold is it? Unless I'm looking in the wrong spot - bottom of pic as current temp right?.

But they don't. Vostok and Amunsden-Scott (S. pole) have maximum diurnal ranges in the monthly means of about 10C and 8C respectively.

Hmm, when I looked at it last they were forecasting (might not have happened though) a high of -42C and a low of -72C, and now most days are meant to be around -57/-75. I can't personally think of what would move the temperature much at all considering skies are cloudy with no sun above the horizon.

I suspect some of those numbers are not "correct". Last August for example Vostok had a mean high of -68.2C and a mean low of -72.8C, a very small difference. There cannot have been many days with a biggish spread. Occasional incursion of frontal air and phase switches between them and stable inversions may cause the odd exception.
The OP's site is obviously on the coast so it will not be as cold as the interior.
