Hi,

We are going to move to Jupiter, Fl. My husband will work in WP downtown area. (How long is that commute during the week?)

I am looking to find the best elementary schools and try to find the zip codes or neighborhoods for those. Also, I'll need a nice preschool if you have any recommendations.

Thanks!

Look for about a 20 minute commute from Jupiter to downtown WPB. It is often less if the traffic is light.

I'm not so sure about schools..... I don't even know if it necessarily depends on what zip code you're in because Jupiter only has a couple of zip codes!!

Look into Abacoa for good family living.

Thanks. Twenty minutes will be less than what we do now so that sounds great.

I read on another forum that the best elementary schools were Lighthouse ELem. and Jerry Thomas Elem. but not Jupiter Elem.

I'm looking for other opinions on that. I'm also wondering how to search for houses based on the schools...

Check out Jupiter Farms also, zip code 33478. It is just to the west of Jupiter, lots start at 1.25 acres. Jupiter Farms has its own elementary school and community park. It is a fantastic area to raise kids.

I was also wanting a neighborhood with a community pool, which was hard to find in Jupiter Farms....any other recommendations?

Is a community pool important or are there many public pools to go to? I want the kids to be able to go to a pool with friends there, rather than just at our house.

Thanks again!

Okay, I just found this great website that has the maps and boundaries for the schools so I'll repost my question.

What are the best preschools and elementary schools in Jupiter?

By the way, the website is:

I lived in Jupiter for seven years and found that Lighthouse Elem was pretty good. It's an A school and if you're living anywhere near the Shores or Loxahatchee Rvr Rd., it's a great commute (for a parent). Friends used to ride their bikes with their kids to school. Preschools in Jupiter can be difficult. My kids attended Professional Learning Center and friends still send their kids there but there's been a turn over with staff and administration. Another friend sent their kids to Country Day but they've recently been sold. Do your research and visit every preschool. Turtle River Montessori was very good but expensive. Good Luck with your move. I found that Jupiter was a great place to live with kids. As for that community pool, that's more prevalent in the rental communities than in the neighborhoods, although I think a few of the newer communities have their own--get a house with a pool. It's worth it.
