Are these two cities comparable? Like, are they similar in ways. How are they different? Which one is nicer and more safe? Just curious. Just moved down and I have been to Hollywood but havent had time to go all the way up to WPB yet.

Nicer and more safe are subjective terms. And its generally by neighborhoods in a city. West Palm Beach has both the city and the western communities. Hollywood by the ocean has the broadwalk, wpb does not have something like that, waterfront is taken by palm beach island mainly. There are alot of places in between too. Less traffic the farther north you go.

Are you talking about the actual CITY of West Palm? If you're not living downtown proper (Cityplace/Clematis districts), and want to be east of 95, check out the neighborhoods immediately south of downtown:

Grandview Heights; El Cid; Flamingo Park; Southland Park; Mango Promenade; Central Park/Monceaux; and the Southend (South of Southern, East of Dixie Highway).

If you're OK with gentrifying areas, Old Northwood and Northwood Shores, north of downtown.

If you're looking for the typical South Florida gated communities with newer homes, you're gonna have to go out to western WPB, or to the burbs... like Jupiter, Gardens, Royal Palm, Boca, etc.
