Hi - My wife was offered a new job in Jupiter and we are thinking about moving down..We are a family with 2 kids in elementary school..Looking for something that has a suburban feel..Nice house, good size yard/ pool..I see many options are part of communities..Is that the norm in Jupiter? Where would the best bet be for best schools (most important) and good location / safe etc.

Thanks

Ted

The Farms is more of a rural area with 1.25 acre lots, are you looking for something with that big of a lot.
Did you have a price range you want to stay in?

Prado has some nice sized lots but that puts you in Martin County.
Valencia in Abacoa would be nice, lots aren't huge but good sized homes, great community for kids, and a rated schools

Hi -

We moved to Jupiter last summer with a similar situation. We decided on private school (The Pine School) so we had some flexibility regarding where to live. We bought in north Jupiter (actually Martin County) in order to get a little more space and property. In Martin County, i would echo another person's recommendation and check out Prado. If you plan to do public, I would consider Valencia in Abacoa. Good schools, decent construction - zero lot lines on many, however. We decided on Martin County for more house/property and love it here. (Hidden Bridge). Good luck!

Valencia has had several issues with construction. Spear built houses had ceramic roof tiles (cracked/broke off very easily in the 2004/05 storms. They also have bad plumbing issues. I personally know of over 6 homes including the model home that flooded due to a plumbing break. Issue is the plastic piping and where it connects to the copper from the hot water heater in the garage.

The Issa built homes with the apartment over the garage has had several cases of mold due to the seal failure between the concrete first floor and the wood 2nd floor.

Some of those homes are so tight that you can be in your pool and touch your neighbors a/c units!

The Delcrest built homes seem to be ok. That place got rocked by foreclosures but it seems it has settled out now.

It can be done! Toes in the pool and touching the case of the neighbors ac unit

In some of these homes the garages are in the back so the pool is in the side yard of the house.....next to the neighbor's ac units. So as another benefit you get no privacy and plenty of noise!
