Before Corona I was planning on trying out for the first time Century Village (Boca) this winter. But I certainly do NOT want to be there if the clubhouse, theater, synagogue, etc. will be closed or significantly restricted. The problem is that if I want to go I probably have to commit to an apartment within the next couple of months. There are already seasonal apartments being advertised. I highly doubt that I will get a refund if the situation is still bleak in the fall (or might I be wrong about that?)
How are things looking down there? Any educated guesses on how it will look in the near future? Any Century Village residents? I realize that the issue of Century Village closure is more sensitive to Corona due to the age of the population. This is sad, I was looking forward to it.
Look at the big picture...........is this a $5000-8000 risk? If CV is restricted then likely your home town will be also.

That was the approximate range last year too. Add on the 12% short-term rental tax. The minimum time requirement in most of the condo associations is four months. And there's a broker's fee.
The total cost of an apartment is $10000 - $13000. Maybe you're wealthier than I am, but I'm not willing to risk throwing that much away without having any idea of what the likelihood of that happening. I'm very curious to see long these apartments sit there at those rents. Seems like owners and brokers are strangely ignoring the Corona effect. I think they're in for a disappointment.

The Deerfield one is 10 miles south of the Boca one but its way closer to the beach and I think in a more accessible part of town than being out in West Boca.
So if Covid20 shuts down S Florida wouldn't your hometown likely be shut down also? So would you rather be stuck in cold weather up north or a warmer climate in Flariduh?

Several points:
I keep talking Boca and you talk Deerfield Beach. Yes, they're both CV but otherwise you're comparing apples to oranges. That apartment you found is ridiculously cheap not just because it's Deerfield Beach. I'm sure the condition has a lot to do with it. And I don't want to buy anyway. In other words it's irrelevant.
The rental you site, besides being in Deerfield Beach, is NOT seasonable. Seasonable apartments, no matter where they are, are at much higher rents.
I live in the NY area. Neighborhoods, even those very near each other, often demand different prices. And for good reason. This applies to CV Boca and CV Deerfield Beach. If they were the same, or as you think even better in Deerfield Beach, why the heck do you think people are paying more in Boca?
And anyway whether it's 5K-8K or 10K-13K, plus the hassle and costs of traveling, and whether it's Boca or Deerfield, the warm weather without the amenities of living in CV is just not worth it to me. That's a personal decision on my part. You obviously are different. That's fine. Thanks.

You are concerned about money, you can rent that place for the whole year for what you are spending in Boca for a few months. I lived in the city of Boca Raton for 17 years/owned a single family home there so I clearly have been to both areas. CV Boca isn't even in the city limits (out west of the Turnpike), its out in west Boca/no man's land. CV Deerfield is literally 2 blocks west of 95 and is less than 5 miles to the Beach. It is also less than 3/4 of a mile to the Boca city limits. So laughably CV Deerfield is closer to the city of Boca Raton than CV Boca is!
Its is closer to the Sawgrass Mills mall and 1.5 miles closer to the Town Center mall in Boca! So while I don't know your plans, its actually in a pretty prime spot for less money! Neither properties are 5 star so I don't know what your concern is other than bragging to your friends about fake West Boca......
