If anyone can give some insight, we are looking for a winter home, we are almost 50 and looking for an active community- I am finding many communities are plus 55.------ Fort Lauderdale is nice to visit but a little to busy and older buildings... I like the areas pompano upto Boynton Beach.... being close to major airports is also important. (30 -45 minutes). we both enjoy outdoor activities/ sports etc..... I would appreciate any comments. thx-----

What price range are you considering? Would you want to be in a 55+ community? Some have an 80/20 rule where you can get in under 55.
A nice community aimed towards active adults/seasonal living, without the active adult restriction is Palladium in Boynton. One story single family homes in the mid 2's, 18-2400 sqft, they maintain your lawn, it's gated, with a clubhouse. 15 minutes to the airport, 15-20 minutes to the beach/Atlantic Ave., lots of golf courses in the area, as well as shopping and restaurants.
Probably be a good fit for what you are looking for.

Home
this is more towards the 100-180 range. Very active, large community.
WPB airport is only 15 minutes away. It's usually a little bit more to fly there but after you figure the additional cab costs to get to FTL, MIA (which are about 40-60 min away)you are about the same.
