We've seen houses we like in west PSL and Delray and Boca. We've vacationed in Fla but never for more than 10 days.
Has anyone heard of recent street flooding or bad drinking water

The homes we've seen allow for walking to a restaurant etc. or just a long walks.
We can easily secure employment at any location, so we can't use that as a tie breaker.
Since we're moving soon, we'd like to get a sense of what it's like from locals.
We'd like living in a community that has mixed ages with diverse and accepting people. HELP

Port St. Lucie's pretty bland. Great for retirees. Not very walkable, though. Of course, I'm biased toward anything in the palm beaches- especially when it comes to diversity, entertainment, proximity to other cities. From what little I've gathered from you, sounds like Delray would be a great location.

Question Delray vs Boca !

Thanks, for the votes. Now, does anyone know specific areas of Boca or Delray that are closer to 95, friendly, safe and walkable. we've been shown some but want mixed ages, restaurant, shopping and walking paths . The areas we were shown in Del Ray seemed good, the houses are affordable, but where we looked there were mostly retired couples. Boca seemed to have fewer available houses, but mixed families and ages. Don't know if we could find affordable and safe in the Palm Beaches.
We appreciate any help.

Let your realtor(s) do the legwork/research for you ... they have the information at hand. The agent earns a commission, and is paid for doing this. If you don't trust your realtor, get another one.

Affordable and safe are pretty easy to find in PBC depending on what you consider affordable. Delray and Boca are two of the highest priced areas in PBC so you are setting the bar fairly high.
Delray Lakes off of Lake Ida has some fairly affordable homes, is near 95, younger, and a long walk/short bike ride to Atlantic Ave.
Nowhere in PBC will seem affordable compared to PSL though. You can buy homes at $50 a square foot there...
