I have just been relocated to Boca Raton. Im a 23 year old recent college grad and I was just trying to get a feel for where the best place for a young person to live is. I don't mind a bit of a commute if its worth it. Any thoughts on where I should look?

Downtown Delray seems to be what a lot of South County residents recommend for young people. There's also downtown West Palm Beach, and maybe even Fort Lauderdale. I'd imagine the traffic OUT of the city TO Boca is probably less than the other way around.

Then again, Boca Raton itself (East Boca, Mizner Park, etc.) has a lot of young people due to Florida Atlantic University being right there.

Try the Mizner Park area - there are some apartments there that are nice and a good nightlife - close to beach. Agree with prior poster, though, if I were your age I would go to Delray Beach (close to the beach). Good luck & Welcome!

I think it all depends on where you might be working and what your budget is.

It truly does depend on your budget. Mizner is great but very expensive. Downtown Delray is also great but expensive - and don't make the mistake of moving to west Delray - no one there under 75. Central Boca has some very nice apartment complexes that are relatively reasonable and a short drive to the Mizner or Delray area. West Palm has a lot of crime as does Boynton.

Ill be working near Boca Center. I would like to stay under $1,200. I really appreciate the advise. I just dont want to get stuck somewhere that looks great but is far from everywhere i want to go.

Boca Center is in central Boca and you can easily find both a 1 or 2 bedroom apt for 1200 or under. Nice, safe area as well and very pretty. You'll find it to have a lot of old people but that's south Florida. You'll still be close to Mizner (east Boca) as well as downtown Delray which offers plenty of nightlife and shopping for young people.
