Hello!

I am fresh from college and have been offered a job near Wellington. I would need to relocate about 3 hours from my home base that is just outside of Tampa. I am a little nervous to accept the job and move down because I am worried that it will not be a good fit for me. I would actually be living more in the Loxahatchee area (due to rent prices) but I want to have fun things to do and be able to meet allot of young people my around my age (23). I know that West Palm Beach is less than 40 min away but I am still not sure because the opposite direction of Wellington is nothing which scares me because I am not used to that at all... I feel that Wellington might be more of a place to go to if you are starting a family or retiring..I would greatly appreciate some input because I am really stressing over taking this job position or not.

Thank You!

I live in Wellington with my wife and am 37. If I were 23, I would want to be by the ocean or somewhere with easier access to the action. If you want an active social life, I think you'll be disappointed by Wellington/Lox offerings. Your daily commute West if you live East won't be too much fun. Another option would be to look in Palm Beach Gardens/Jupiter [I would suggest the rentals in town center] which intersects 95 and the Fl Turnpike so you have the best of both worlds (quick shot to WPB via 95 or Wellington via FL Turnpike). Depending on where you're working, you can have easy access to the Turnpike and Wellington. In this area, as no East-West highways exist, taking the streets with long lights and a lot of traffic takes a long time.
