considering the terrain its cutting through, its not too bad of a time frame.
But I'm wondering if VA has agreed to do their little part of this, it seems rather pointless without their connecting part.
The article did mention that it would connect into I81, so I asume that they are planning for it to do so. If not, I agree that is the important part of the road.
The engineering of Mountain Top Removal blasting practices and the design of incredible earth/rock removal equipment has rendered cutting a highway through solid rock as affordable and feasable.
This road is needed for the new Wv of the next 100 years.
I praise R. C. Byrd's foresight in opening up the hidden treasure that is our Potomac Highlands.
No offense intended to anybody, but it is about time we stop naming things for politicians. We have enough of that. Pick out somebody who died in service to our country from that region, and name it for him/her, or pick a name that describes the road or the area where it is located.
Pollitician get more than enough bennies on middle class money while they are alive. Their is little sense in perpetuating their special interest serving memories beyond that.
If we begin naming these projects for others we will forget those politicians and I'd rather not do that.

When I'm with someone, I like to point to that portrait and state the amount of money that old harp stole from one single county.
He's in Hell now, explaining to God how he used his power to benefit the darker side.
If we take their names away, we will forget them....those names stand as a witness for the good and the evil they have done.
