I have looked at some of the national sites to look at land in West Virginia- like United Country and Lands of America but am wondering if there are any good MLS searches or other local sites to find real estate near Morgantown? We are looking for more rural land at least 20 acres. Any advice for where to look? Thanks!

In Charleston, our winters bounce from normal lows around 30 to normal highs of 60. We may have 1-2 days of 0 and a few in the teens thrown in there. We can also get some good highs.
One thing is consistent about our winters - the weather is never consistent. Week ago it was 80, a few days later we had 2 inches of snow, then the day after it was 55. Pretty typical late winter/early spring weather for us.
The mountains near the ski areas are a whole different story. Much colder, lots more snow, onger winters.
The Morgantown market is keeping itself tight...ignoring the depression and keeping their property values at peak. You will need to look in the western part of Monongalia County...Preston County...Taylor County...and into Pennsylvania: Fayette and Greene counties.
This area is in expansion and will do so for the next 20/40 years. Acreage that you are asking for hardly exists, as that large a tract will be taken for residential development.
If I were you, I would search Greene County, Pa in the Mt. Morris area.
In our region, buyers of acreage are forced to the areas along Rt 50 Clarksburg/Parkersburg and south of Jane Lew on I-79. It's an availability thing.
If you can use 8/9 acres or less give me a shout..I'll hook you up with a guy selling small parcels, and that is in Taylor County, 15/20 minutes from Morgantown...
