entertainment and ESPECIALLY dining seem to have HUGE gaps in quality and quantity. obviously it's silly to compare a suburb to one of the greatest cities in the world, but i do think it is a detriment to the community at large.

As a late 20-something you have chosen a location that is a magnet for couples, yuppies, over achievers and anyone else with deep pockets who is seeking the American dream with a back yard. If you want the life and energy that is NYC then move there, one is enough and every location can not be everything to everyone.
Hint: Avoid Long Island it makes Westchester look exciting (according to younger posters)...
