i've seen a few houses for sale on morningside drive in crootn. What is this area like? is there much of a community feel? On the map it looks to be close to several parks...are they in walking distance and are the parks nice?
any details on the specific area on morningside would be appreciated.
Morningside Drive is in the Sunset area of Croton. It is a very nice part of town and has a good mix of town feel with a sense of country too since you're on the hill leading down to the Croton River. You're inches from Sunset Park, which is a small but very popular playground, and a short stroll from Silver Lake, the resident-only beach on the Croton River, and from the start of the town trail system. You're also a very short walk to the town library, all the schools, and both the Upper Village and the Harmon shopping areas. The train station is walkable, and an easy bike ride. We have friends in the Sunset area and it definitely has a strong community feel. (We have gone there for Halloween a few times to be with friends and the whole area participates and goes wild, with adults supervising the tweens' shaving cream fights.) I think it is a good area for people who want an in-town, close to neighbors, and walk to things lifestyle.
