Has anyone used Colton Mattress Factory in Asheville? I am looking for a high end mattress and would appreciate any recommendations. I would like to buy local.

We purchased a natural latex mattress from them about 8 months ago. They gave us a price we were happy with and they delivered it. Everyone was very nice to deal with. I'd buy from them again. You could also look them up at the Mattress Underground forums.

Thanks for the reply! I am looking for a latex mattress. I need something firm but not rock hard. Does Colton give you a choice for firmness?

Yes, I think they have Soft, Medium, Firm and Extra Firm (I think). The models in the showroom are on a box spring base which allows a lot of bounce The Medium model seemed just right. But since we have a platform bed, the mattress feels more like a "Firm". We might go back and buy a soft latex mattress topper. I also like the cover, it's a bamboo material with handles on the sides so it's easy to flip over. Very nice product.
