No lakes for dogs in Weaverville, Sorry. We take our dogs to the Coleman Boundary at the end of Dillingham Road in Barnardsville. It's part of the Pisgah National forest and there are hiking trails and mountain rivers everywhere. Our retrievers love it.
Azalea Dog park in Asheville has a pond that dogs can swim in.
We've taken the dogs to Lake Julian in south Asheville once or twice. We use to visit Beaver lake in North Asheville until they instituted their $50 dog walking permit.
Unfortunately, other than that, you have to make friends with people who have ponds if you want to let your dogs swim.
