try the Oregon coast but good luck with the job market there and don't forget your wet suit
if jobs are the priority, and you must move to NC, look at Charlotte, Triangle, and Triad (as noted above)
Temperature is relative. I'm 36 and haven't owned a coat since I moved to NC a decade ago. I almost always wear flip-flops and short sleeve shirts when out and about. I feel cold about 1 to 2 days per year here...so I put on a sweatshirt .

Wow, where are you originally from? (your City-Data location information is blank) where in western NC do you live? and at what elevation?

I'm going to bookmark this thread for next winter and check up on you

From Illinois, live in Asheville.

To be honest I'm already dreading the warm weather. Luckily it's not supposed to get over 70 for the next 10 days, but a few days ago killed me. I didn't like the summer in Illinois either....got much hotter (but less humid). No allergies here which is awesome.
