My brother went there and loved it! I tend to think of those students as more of the type to enjoy mountaining biking, 'outdoorsy' things. Seems like Atlanta or some city in Georgia wasn't too far and so that's where they frequented for a taste of the 'big city!' You should go visit the campus soon... you'll get a much better idea of what to expect when you're actually there on campus with all the other students. The admissions department usually has a few students who are willing to answer questions via email/phone/in person and will let you check out their dorm rooms too. Good luck!
I graduated from there and I thought it was a great experience. Alot of students live off campus down along the Tuckasegee river or back on the mountainsides. Parking used to be a small problem. Find some friends and have a good time. Classes were easy, except for geology 101.

Its a respected school in the area, great place if you like outdoors stuff. Just know the closest place with much of anything is Asheville, an hour away. Most people attending love it. I think jets player just doesn't get invited to the right parties

I graduated from there in 06 and I really miss it....me and my wife both do. If I had to do it all over again, I would still pick WCU. The campus has really changed since I was there but for the better IMO. It was a great campus before, but now, it's awesome. With around 11k students, it's a decent size school, but still small enough to have a close-knit feel. Also, some of their programs are some of the highest rated in the country.
Also, whoever said classes were easy obviously dropped out before starting Major classes.
I've heard a lot of people leave on weekends and I was just wondering if there is still a lot of cool things going on on the weekends (like parties, concerts, etc.) or if the campus is kinda dead?
