However, in a further effort to protect those at high risk, and to minimize the spread of COVID-19 in our community, APD is strongly encouraging everyone to comply with Buncombe County's Stay Safe-Stay Home order. It is not our intent to criminalize those who do not comply, but rather educate individuals on the intent of the order with a warning or advisement. However, if the behavior persists APD will consider the use of citations to gain compliance."..." https://wlos.com/news/local/stay-hom...uncombe-county

We've already been staying in for the past week, except for a quick trip to the grocery store and walks. Hopefully people will adhere.
Ya. Hopefully. I'm lucky in that if I need anything my son gets it for me on his trips to the grocery store....but I'm older than you, and staring down the term "elderly" (who the heck ever decided "60" was elderly?...I got up on a ladder today to finally win the war between me and a bird who chose my gutter to build a nest! Thankfully, it had not laid anything yet).
Anyway, by March 1, I was mostly set for 4 months of quarantine (1 pack of TP, I swear!! ) and self-quarantined by the 8th. Though I'm walking and driving. I won't go into a store now though. It's my hope the stuff I bought was done early enough that it was less likely to be infected. I didn't wipe it down.
I have to say: I MISS CHICKEN!! I'm hoping my son can get a whole one soon....I'm so ready for a roast, gravy, mashed potatoes, green beans.
Okay, TMI? I'm not a big social being, but still, I do need people and this is the end of 3 weeks at home for me. I'm so glad I have my own yard now.
edited to add: I misread what you wrote...thought you meant Buncombe county...missed the state thing. But did the "STATE" have a stay at home order? I missed that until tonight. You wrote it "extended" it. I never saw it before today, so how was it "extended"?

I meant Buncombe County was for 2 weeks but now the entire state is told to stay home until the end of April. Therefore, it's now a month instead of just 2 weeks that Buncombe County first ordered. I hope that makes sense.
just checking the news...2 more deaths in NC from Covid19, one in Buncombe county and one in Mecklenburg.
