I can't find it on any recent map, but...

I'm doing some ancestry stuff and the name comes up.
"N of the French Broad River" is all the rest I have now.

Closest I can find is Morgan Creek.
Would that be it?
Thanks

Simply basing what information you provided.......

Morgan
(Buncombe County)
AND North of the French Broad.

My response was to Dackelmom's suggestion of it being Morganton and not fitting those criteria mostly because it is in Burke Co.

Catawba R. flows through Morganton.

Personally I have no idea where Morgan is in Buncombe County, etc. etc.

Your initial conclusion that it may have been Morgan Creek seemed most logical.
