Not condemning for protesting. Condemning for ILLEGALLY striking, saying they are sick when they are obviously not, asking for proof that they are sick knowing that they are not, and finally.....

PROVING ONCE AND FOR ALL THAT THEY CARE NOTHING ABOUT THE CHILDREN.

The issue I have with this is what kind of example are they setting for the kids?

Hey kids, if it helps your cause, it is OK to fake some documents. I hope these teachers who use these fake sick notes are good with it when their students show up without their homework because the dog ate it. "But teacher, I have a note from my dog!"

Wisconsin Med School Investigating Fake Sick Notes (http://slatest.slate.com/id/2285958/ - broken link)

Quote:
The University of Wisconsin's medical school is investigating charges that its doctors wrote fake sick notes for protesters who skipped work to rally against Gov. Scott Walker's proposed cutbacks to union benefits.

Lou Sanner, a doctor at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, justified the notes by telling the Associated Press (http://www.forbes.com/feeds/ap/2011/02/20/general-us-wisconsin-budget-doctor-apos-s-notes_8317930.html - broken link) that many of the demonstrators "seemed to be suffering from stress."

Does anyone have a list of doctors who did this? This is malpractice and fraud. They should lose their licenses or at least lose their jobs. Let's get a list together and bombard the medical board and UW Health to do something about this.
I agree, I would love to do this. I hope some action has been already initiated since they are doing this so publicly.

You are so off.

Nobody is condemning anyone for protesting, that is a right given to us by the Constitution.

We are condemning teachers for shirking their responsibilities to the school children and causing parents to have to miss work. They could have protested after school and on weekends.

We are condemning the doctors not for facilitating it, but for engaging in fraudulent activity and handing out fake doctors' notes. You're supposed to be sick and not go to work, not skip work and then become sick from whatever you did while you were not at work.

We are condemning the Dems not for supporting the protest, but for running away from their jobs, jobs they are being paid to perform by you and me and all the taxpayers of WI.

Moderator cut: tone issue

Everything that's going on is well within the lawbooks. You just have sour grapes because the protesters are exposing what a FRAUD your Governor is to a national audience.

And Andrea, change your location... you know damn well you don't live in Milwaukee!

It's so subjective that you would NEVER be able to hold that up in a court of law.

That's almost funny .... yea, real "private".

a "private" consultation in a 50,000 + outdoor protest, on a public sidewalk, with news crews from all over the nation.

I have no sour grapes about anything. I'm happy with what's going on, except that the teachers and Dem leaders have walked out on their responsibilities.

And yes, the teachers strike is illegal. Why do you think they are calling it a sickout instead?

The state is going after them now.

Dave Ross of the state Department of Regulation and Licensing says the agency is looking into accusations that a number of local doctors provided the notes for protesters who missed work during the week. Ross says the department will review complaints with the independent Medical Examining Board as soon as possible.
