I'm originally from Northern California born and raised there. I'm living in the south now but wanting to move back. I've been on several interviews for drafting jobs. I've had a few offers but would have had to take $8-10 pay cut in order to accept.
Can anyone shed some light on the job market there right now, and especially on AutoCAD drafting jobs? I have a few sites that I search daily, craigslist, indeed.com, cadtalent.com, and occasionally careerbuilder.
I have a hard time believing that living in the deep south I can make more then I would living in CA. My only reasoning is there are more people out of work there willing to work for less. Is this the case?
Can't provide any info for California, but I live in the deep south (FL) and am wondering the same thing. I can't find anything in the local job listings for drafting or CAD. I was wondering what type of education you have in it? I only have an A.A. and A.S.

I actually have an A.S. I have 9 years autocad experience in civil engineering, and 5 years experience in technology drafting.
