Having a sub forum for government employment would save time for people that are looking for info that is specifically government related. It could also give federal soup some healthy competition and at the same time provide all of of with an additional source of information on the complexities of gov. employment.

What do you think? Yay or Nay?

Post this in the City Data Administration Zone forum.......

Put Forum Suggestion in the Title. Maybe a MOD will see this one and move it or you can ask them too.

It's a good idea.

Probably not the best timing, too many anti-government feelings out there (complaints about government employee union perks milking tax payers, government beauracracy, government innieficiency, government employment increases while the private industry is facing almost 10% unemployment).

There is the potential of this new forum being the site user punching bag.

Sounds to me that it is actually good timing. Perfect for some good forum discussions.

Sounds like it would just be a bunch of trolls attacking government employees.

I'm on Federal Soup and that board already has more than its share of trollish behavior, like ongoing fights about vet preference that are in every forum. I used to hang out on one of the boards and it was more or less taken over by an ex-employee that would wreck every thread talking about how horrible the agency was and how they had been mistreated. Federal Soup is pretty light on the moderation, but I think even they finally had enough and got the person to leave.

This board is much bigger, so the possibility of it being all flamewars all the time is pretty high.
