After two interviews with a place, I just got turned down for the job. Why? "Well, we found someone with more experience who can hit the ground running much faster than you".

Yeah? Well **** you. Tired of that bull**** excuse. Being a recent college graduate sucks!

Im sorry that sucks....Some days are just a waste of make up and sometimes you just have to scream really loud let it all out and then pick up yourself up and try again. Hang in there..

I got my job because the chic they gave it too up and quit and I have learned was complete space case at the job the 6 weeks she had it.... I also found out that it was between me and the lady that quit and well they just picked her because they werent really sure which one of us they wanted thinking she would fit in better because most of the people are older and it backfired on them. She also pretended to be more computer literate then what she was. So I just caught a lucky break so hopefully a lucky break will happen for you too. =)

You're not alone here, while I was looking for a job this happened quite often. I would sit and think "WTF WHY HAVENT THEY CALLED ME!?"

Had an interview yesterday for an unpaid internship that is actually related toward the degree I graduated in (WHAT THAT IS HERSAY!!!), I thought it went really well and for the first time in a while I am actually not pessmistic.

Now lets see 2 weeks later when they get back to me how I will feel.

I'm so pessimistic these days when applying for one. I applied to a job almost 2 days ago and I feel I'm perfect for it. I fit the description perfectly. I haven't heard anything yet, which is to be expected, but I'm so negative about it that I'm instantly thinking great, I won't get it. They won't call me. I probably should have said something differently. I probably shouldn't have written so-and-so the way I did.

Why am I like this? Because this is a freaking game! Seems like with the way things are, employers just find the dumbest things to count against anyone these days.

I don't know, am I the only person who has become so negative like this when it comes to the whole job search and applying game?

Sorry to rant. Ugh.
No wonder why our economy sucks. There are businesses able to hire but they are too afraid, and don't want to lose their money. It's like they set aside their revenue for a rainy day.

"Someone we can pay 10 dollars an hour to instead of 12."

My husband has a lot of experience and is not getting many calls, despite targeting places in his industry. He's getting very frustrated and it is making our family very stressful and unhappy. I can't say or do anything right.

When you are single, you can only berate yourself. When you have a partner, or kids, they get to bear the brunt of your frustration.

It's BAD for everyone, graduates, older people, everyone.

You make a good point chef.sunny22 because i can just imagine how bad things would be if I still lived with my mom or had a wife. But the fact that it's just me I don't have to worry about another person monitoring by job search efforts on a daily basis.

I agree with sunny it is bad for everyone. I went to a job fair not long ago. I was stuck by a few things the lack of jobs Some places were not even hiring mostly temp or part time for the rest. Their were tons of people standing there in their 50's. Hoping to land a 10 dollar an hour temp job like me.
