Seeing how bad the job situation is I may have to expand my horizons for the job I want.

Who here has to work outside their state?

Whats your commute?

What kind of car do you drive and what are the challenges you face?

With today's gas prices hopefully it's not too far of a commute.

I was also living in an area (southeast Georgia) with a horrible job market and the job I found was 3000 miles away so I had to move.

The people that I know who commute out of state don't drive. Too far. They take the plane every weekend (and they only get 4-day work weeks!) It seems to be working just fine for them.

Similar to above, I commuted by plane across the country for several years. It was very difficult.

I dont work out of state, but I have a 20 mile commute one way that has taken as long as an hour and 20 minutes, all for $18 an hour and no benefits.

I work out of state, but I live about five miles from the state line, and work five blocks on the other side of the state line.

I know of some automotive workers who commute here from Wisconsin-- a drive of about ten to 12 hours one way. They stay wherever they can during the week and return home on weekends.
