The only in demand jobs I see right now are for software engineers...its clear that the demand for software professionals cannot keep up with supply. Pretty much every other profession is screwed...

Sounds like a profession bubble to me. Just like education and the US Dollar.

I don't think so. You see, these software engineers are busy automating every other job function that exists and replacing humans.

Sorry but that is why companies spend so much on IT infrastructure...to get rid of as many routine jobs as possible. Employees = cost center. An ideal company, even a multi billion dollar corporation would have only a few employees and pretty much everything would be automated.

Yes, that is why we are witnessing massive structural unemployment today. We simply dont need that many humans to do jobs anymore.
