To many people use the wrong words about being out of work.

There is a big difference between being terminated like,
laid off, fired, or quitting you job ! ! !

1. If you are laid off ( and you were not fired )
and you may qualify for unemployment.

2. If you were fired, then ( you are not )
qualify for unemployment.

3. If you quit ( you are not )
qualify for unemployment.

I don't know why someone would say they were fired if they were laid off. Regardless, resignation and termination are not automatic disqualifiers to receiving umemployment.

I dont think unemployment insurance makes a distinction between being fired or laid off... its just as long as you weren't excused for gross misconduct.
