Does anyone here make money with a blog? How does it work?
I understand you start writing about something you know, say, exercise, nutrition, etc, you draw in readers with key words they search through Google, etc, then.....how do you make money? I understand you get paid by advertisers who advertise on your blog, but how do you attract them?
I make money off blogs. Nothing huge, when I put time and effort in maybe $350 a month, if I just let them sit I passively earn say $100 to $150 per month. The most common and probably easiest way to make money is adwords/adsense. It's adwords for advertisers on the flip side if your a publisher ie a blogger its called adsense for you where you run the advertisers adwords ads. Its contextual ads meaning they run ads depending upon the content on the site as well as what the reader has been searching for, because of this they are targeted.
another way people make money is with affiliate programs so you could have a site about camping and run ads for gandermountain for example and if people buy you make money. amazon is another popular affiliate program since they sell basicaly everything.
dont start a blog tyring to make money as it will get old and boring fast. start a blog about something you enjoy and in turn the money will come and you will enjoy writing and actually have some expertise on the subject if its somethign you know about. youll find its harder to drive traffic to your site than you think probably.
