My plan is to move to Atlanta by June/2014.

I could start my search now, but I want to put at least a few more grand away(add more money to my moving fund) in the event I cannot find anything that offers relocation packages.

I was thinking maybe around Jan-Feb 2014?

Even if I land a interview before than and possibly an offer, I know without a doubt, I'll have the relocation money without having to dip into my savings.

It really all comes down to the nature of the job.
Some jobs necessitate research and overtures well in advance. More don't.

In between, the actual hiring (not to be confused with the farce of most advertising let alone
the circle jerk of applications) is usually about filling a current, even acute, need for an X.

A need that for some reason can't be filled by someone already employed by or known to them
or to take over the lower level job that held by their internal hire before their promotion.

So... when can you start? Next week? No?
Yeah, sure we'll put your resume on file with the other 3000.
