I am currently living in Rochester, NY (jobs are few) and I am making a decision like many people to move to the DC market. I have about 10 years combined in grocery, retail and telecommunication sales. The Highest position I held was a dept. Supervisor. I have a Bachelors degree in Psychology and minor in Business. I eventually want to get my Masters in economics and finance to become an economist. Currently I have no experience and little education in economics so looking for a job in that may be hard. My goal is to make a transition away from the sales aspect of my background and a least get a office task oriented jobs for an example HR assistant or analyst.
So how should I market myself and what jobs should I look out for?

if you are a competent salesman, sales is still where you can make a lot of money

You may need the money to go to grad school

You need the degree before you can get the job

but if sales takes up too much time, then why not go back to being a dept manager while you go to school?
