Yes. They are fair because they are in line with industry averages. Every fast food place pays about the same. And I don't get this misconception that they always pay minimum wage. Usually the burger flippers are started out above the federal minimum wage.
Adjusted for inflation, fast food jobs pay less today than they did 40 or 50 years ago.
And executive wages have sky-rocketed, even when adjusted for inflation, but "that's the way it should be," or so we're told over and over again around here.
But let's just put our blinders back on and pretend that everyone beneath us socio-economically is "lazy, stupid, and unskilled," those in power "deserve" their wealth and lack of accountability, and that anyone who expects anything for their effort is "entitled" because "nobody owes anyone anything." Because certainly denying reality has been working out great for our nation thus far... and the Great Recession rolls on, with most of the nation getting a raw deal, despite no shortage of people who so badly want to see their fellow citizens throw out into the street if it might make the company stock tick up a penny for a day.

Professional athlete wages have also sky rocketed. Movie star and entertainment industry wages have sky rocketed. Why haven't you mentioned them!

Rambler123 - are you unemployed, again? I ask because your rants about other people's pay have been on a roll lately. Have you considered that maybe you keep getting laid-off because those who work around you are tired of hearing your twisted socialist viewpoints?
The fair wage would be the wage they'd get if they were unionized and could collectively bargain.
Of course that's not the case, because the corporations prevent their workers from unionizing, with such things as "right to work" laws. It would be like if there were state laws against corporations forming. The union is the workers' equivalent of a corporation.

That worked out very well for those UAW folks, didn't it? Darn near killed the golden geese. How many of those over-paid UAW people still have those jobs now? Holding your employer hostage isn't the brightest thing to do.
I'd rather be homeless than work fast food. And to make matters even more ironic, I'm almost positive homeless people on corners with signs are pulling in far more than fast food workers.
If you are making 10000 times more than your workers, you are a scumbag.
Yeah, in nature, you could theoretically kill all the animals in the area for just YOU to eat, before the rest of the civilization came and imposed some rough justice on you for trying to starve everyone else.

LOL... love nonsensical posts like this.
Let's not forget that McDonalds is a franchise. The person who decides how much low level employees are paid is the person who took all the risks by obtaining a franchise license and opening up the business. It takes $1.5 million, on average, to open a single McDonalds location. If the employees don't feel like they make enough, they should just take on some of the risk and put some money towards that $1.5 million. Until then, they are in no position to complain as they are reaping the benefits of having a job with no real risk.
