I was offered a job via human resources...the hiring manager told them to call me and offer me the job. Do I send the hiring manager a thank you? I will be under her supervision on the unit. This is a nursing job. I have two entire weeks until my start date. I don't want to stick out as overly eager and annoying. I have already gone in and done my new-hire visit, drug screen, etc.
What is the etiquette concerning new hire thank yous? Did you send a letter of thanks for the job?
It's not customary, liks fpsbob said, a thank you letter for the interview is normal. Once hired the best way to say thank you is to complete the onboarding ASAP and go to work on time and do what is expected of you.
I've never heard anything before about thank you letters for getting hired either.
On a side note, I do remember a time period where sending a thank you note after interview was deemed not necessary. I'm not making that up, I do recall reading that a while ago.
Of course nowadays when you read advice about interviews, they always tell you to send a thank you note.
I haven't been doing that am I've done ok with getting job offers.
