Hi Everyone,

I am going to start taking my prereqs for OTA and Hopefully would be finished in a few years. I had a question, what is the starting rate for OTA's in the EAST CoAST? I am getting a lot of mixed reviews and I really want something specific. A lot of ppl from the west coast say that over there they start at $30 some $40. But the median salary on BLS says 53k. Thats $25 for Full time 80hrs biweekly. Im looking to have a flexible schedule maybe working 64hrs biweekly. Any OTA's here on this forum from Baltimore-D.C Metro Area know how much the starting rate for a new grad is? This will help alot! Thanks!

Hi I am a PTA from the Ma/RI area COTA'S in those ares start about 23-24 an hour depending on of course if your in geriatrics out patient is typically 18 or so an hour. I honest don't see a huge difference I area as I am now a 20 hear PTA and have practiced in 4 states Texas being one of them and in the Dallas area at least was the highest I ever heard of however they were not new grads and they were in the 30-34 dollar range once again this is limited to SNFs.

good luck

Oh you may want to look on Glassdoor.com they give salary information look up companies like Rehabcare, Aegis or Enduracare that employs a lot of therapist and look at the reviews typically they also have salaries listed.

I hate to be "that guy", but... what does OTA even stand for? Googling brings up organic trade, Ottawa truckers, and even the Ottawa Taekwondo Association.

Is this something everyone knows, with only me in the dark?

A little help?
