and this assignment is 'supposed to last 3 months or so'.
atleast i'm not on unemployment, which I am glad, and working. this assignment is a solid 35/40 mins drive one way and although my hourly is at $15/hour, after taxes, say using a 30% tax bracket, that's basically ~ $11.53/hour.
i know...i can do better, but it's a job...temp though.
anyways, got this assigment via temp company "A". i am hoping that this becomes a FT job, at a rate of $25 or more. may or may not happen, but i'll see/stick out this assignment and see what happens. my question here is that if i am still entertaining offers, sending out my resumes for a L/T and/or F/T position at company "b" and "c", will it look bad on my side representing companny "a" and agreeing for 3 months for the assignment?
or am i better of finishing the assignment, and continue to apply for better opportunities and when this current assignmetn finishes I have something line up? this is what i hope happens, as although the commute i have now is similar to my previous FT job that i had for 9 yrs that ended in Dec 2013...
again sorry for rambling....but i'm stuck between 2 rocks.... boooya
Work that job so you have money coming in, apply for other jobs in the meantime. If you need to leave while working the 3 month contract, do so. It'll probably take you about that time to find a full time job anyway.
What's wrong with making temp work permanent? It's the future! Temp workers! Get used to it!
