Just as lame, IMHO.
But hey... it's your time and you can use it as you wish!

No.

That's what weekends are for.

A lot of judgemental people here. There really is no difference if you called out sick to play a video game, play golf, go to a sporting event or an interview. Most companies simply have a pool of PTO nowadays and you can use it for whatever you want. What one person thinks is foolish or smart, is irrelevant.

For two years, I bought and sold "virtual" real estate in an online game and played full time instead of working. Both years I made over 6 figures at a time when it meant more than it does today '98-'99. There really wasn't anyone looking down on me, let alone women.

You have not read the threads on relationship boards then... men routinely claim that!

When I worked in offices, I called in many times when I just didn't feel like working. Now that I work from home, that is not necessary. I would only call in sick if I was completely sick and miserable.

I certainly take mental health days, but not for something like a video game being released. And I pretty much just tell my boss, "I need a mental health day - I'm taking PTO on Tuesday," and she says, "No problem, see you Wednesday and have a fun day off!"

Why would you call in? You mean to use sick time?

Just schedule the day as vacation.

No, not adult, mature women.
