And as I said above I would bet plenty of women have woken up and decided "You know, I am just not feeling it today, I would rather take a day off to go hang out with my girlfriends, or get my nails done".
A lot of judgemental people here. There really is no difference if you called out sick to play a video game, play golf, go to a sporting event or an interview. Most companies simply have a pool of PTO nowadays and you can use it for whatever you want. What one person thinks is foolish or smart, is irrelevant.
:::sigh:::
...and many men wonder why many women look down on video game players.
For two years, I bought and sold "virtual" real estate in an online game and played full time instead of working. Both years I made over 6 figures at a time when it meant more than it does today '98-'99. There really wasn't anyone looking down on me, let alone women.

You have not read the threads on relationship boards then... men routinely claim that!
When I worked in offices, I called in many times when I just didn't feel like working. Now that I work from home, that is not necessary. I would only call in sick if I was completely sick and miserable.
I certainly take mental health days, but not for something like a video game being released. And I pretty much just tell my boss, "I need a mental health day - I'm taking PTO on Tuesday," and she says, "No problem, see you Wednesday and have a fun day off!"
Ever called in to work so you could do or attend something that or the next day? I have a few times. Last time it was September 1st for the new Metal Gear Solid game I got it and played and beat it in one day, it still has tons to offer but it was really fun. Next time will be November 10th for Fallout 4, can't wait!
Tell me, how would you feel if a woman decided to call in just so she could go get her hair and nails done, or to go to the mall to shop?

o, unlike some people I don't get "Sick (Lazy) pay"
