Nothing's blocked at my work, but I only go on C-D at home. My screen can be seen by the entire office, so I tend not to go on forums and the like where someone could see my screen name and get nosy about my posting history.
I work full time from home and can visit any website I please, as long as the work gets done.
I wish companies would get over this paranoia about social sites. It makes people happy. Let us be happy. If someone's not doing his job, warn him, then fire him, problem solved.

But when that happens, you should hear all the whining and complaining about being terminated. There actually was a post where someone was told by their employer verbally and ultimately in writing to stop spending so much time on personal web searches and social media as they felt it was interfering with the person's work. That poster continued doing it and was terminate. They were complaining that it was unfair because they felt they had a right to check otherwise why give them internet access. You wouldn't believe the number of people who defended the employee.
I personally have no blocking of social media or similar sites for my employees. But I also don't have employees that would abuse the freedom. And I hope I don;t have any who would deliberately continue an action they were told could result in them being terminated. I honestly believe that there are many younger employees who for some reason feel their have some right to engage in their own personal pursuits and employers need to accept it.
Yes, why not? We are working professionals here, not children.
Add the word "hardly" before working.... :roll eyes:
