foreigners come here with WAT

Work and Travel Visa is the name. You have to be a student in any university in any country

The others are just here with a tourist visa and they work under the table. Simple as that.

Government knows, police knows everyone knows but no one does anything about it.

Right now in Houston, the minimum wage as far as I see it, is $11/hr. You can see the ads in restaurants or stores and this is the minimum you will get

but if the corporation manages to get work and travel visa people, then they pay the legal minimum wage which is $7.53/hr

huge difference

We can blame corporations and politicians, but we did to ourselves.

We elect politicians who say one thing for us and another for their owners.

When we started buying cheap crap at Walmart while we knew mom and Pop stores in the town square were going under.

When we decided that there was a difference between personal ethics and business ethics.

I see many older people who should have retired years ago still working because they cannot trust our stock market and they get no interest on saving. Might as well put it under the mattress. If they would retire, plenty of new graduates could get a job.

Foreign workers have enriched all our lives. But, it is time to slow down for a while until kids born here get work and the economy improves.

There is a common theme among these kiosks.
The astute will figure it out.
In general, they're all scams one way or another.

Kind of like when I visit Florida -- all the souvenir and tshirt shops are manned by young foreigners here for the summer as well.

What's the incentive to hire foreign workers for such menial work as kiosk sales reps? They're minimum wage jobs so what is the difference between hiring an American or a foreigner?

Bush blesses outsourcing to India - TOI Mobile | The Times of India Mobile Site

President Bush and his administration have reiterated their commitment to free trade , including explicitly backing the idea of outsourcing to countries such as India .

Specifically referring to India as an example of an outsourcing destination, the Bush report says "when a good or service is produced more cheaply abroad, it makes more sense to import it than to make or provide it domestically."
With that commitment, the Bush administration has effectively thrown its weight behind outsourcing at a time when the several Democratic contenders and sections of the media are beating up on the idea in the face of economic troubles and due to election posturing

Dopo, what's your point? It's not a democrat or republican issue. What are democrats doing to stop the outsourcing and visa hiring?

The only Dem who said anything about visas is Sanders. He's against 'me except for farm workers.

It is hard to tell about the congress folk since they all have forked tongues.

Dark days when the extreme left and right from both sides (Sanders & Trump) rail against immigration and/or free trade.

America's liberal immigration policies are a big reason that are economy hasn't been stagnant for the past 2+ decades like Japan and most of western Europe (which have more protectionist-oriented governments and policies).
